Phone storage full? How to free up space

iPhone or iPad

1. Settings → General → iPhone Storage lists apps by size and suggests fixes.
2. Turn on Offload Unused Apps. It removes apps but keeps their data.
3. In Photos, empty Recently Deleted. Deleted photos still use space for 30 days.
4. Turn on iCloud Photos with Optimize iPhone Storage to keep smaller copies on the phone.
5. Clear old message attachments: iPhone Storage → Messages → Review Large Attachments.

Android

1. Settings → Storage (Samsung: Settings → Device care → Storage).
2. Open Files by Google → Clean for quick suggestions.
3. In Google Photos, use Free up space once your photos are backed up.
4. Clear the cache of big apps: Settings → Apps → the app → Storage → Clear cache.

The usual suspects

Videos, WhatsApp and Messenger media, downloaded music and podcasts, and offline maps.
